Nioh

Nioh is an Action RPG released on February 7th of 2017 as a PS4 exclusive. Luckily for all of us PC Master race enthusiasts, Nioh was released on steam November 7th of 2017. Currently for me it's only been twenty days since it's steam release so I've been consuming as much Nioh as fast as I can.

Nioh is a game that would be put under the Soulsborne genre which just means it's similar to the Darksouls, Demonsouls, and Bloodborne games. Well as that is correct there is a bunch of differences as well that completely make Nioh it's own game. The few things that make Nioh a soulsborne like game are for one, the Medicine system, Medicine is basically your Estus. You start with three when you enter a level, but you can find more and they can be dropped by enemies, but will be reset every time you go to a shrine.
Another thing that makes them similar is the shrines. They are basically the Bonfires of Darksouls. You rest at one and it regains all your medicine, health, and magic. As well as being able to summon other players here, sell items for the leveling currency and set up your magic, ect. Combat wise Nioh combat is somewhat like the combat of Darksouls 3 in the way that you have a weapon, you hit with it, it takes up stamina, roll away from the attacks, hit again, heavy attacks deal more damage but are slower. That's all true, but Nioh has the Stance system.

In Darksouls 3, different weapons will have different movesets, each with pros and cons. In Nioh, each type of weapon has the same move set, except theres the Stance system. Each Weapon has three stances, low, middle, and high. Moving to each stance changes the way you hold your weapon, and the entire moveset. Low stance gives you more mobility, giving you fast sweeps and the ability to roll quicker. Middle stance is the one you'll start out with in the tutorial stage, does good damage, good speed, and amazing blocking. Then there's High Stance which has low mobility, ok blocking, but fantastic damage. Attacks with High Stance will be super slow, but deal tons of damage  and have a higher chance to stun an enemy.

Now a few things that are different, instead of just having a main hub like Darksouls does. You go to your map screen, then from there you can level up, go to a blacksmith, which isnt a place just a shop menu. And other things like that, and instead of the map being one large place that you go from point A to point B, you go in missions and sometimes the same level will have different missions that you can go back and do.
