Getting Over It - Game Review

Image
Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy Getting Over It is a 2D game that became surprisingly popular over a short amount of time. It was released on October 6th of 2017. Getting Over It is very popular between Twitch and Youtube streamers, it being a hard and short game good to speedrun. About The Game Getting Over It is most popular for being known as a very hard game. Which seems to be a popular trend lately with Cuphead being released not that long ago. In Getting Over It you are a man stuck in a cauldron with only a hammer and your own muscles to climb over large obstacles like trees, mountains, and plastic cups. The main reason of the game's hardness is the different controls and how easy it is to loose all of your progress with one small move. My Opinion In my opinion the game is great. It brings a challenge to the gaming scene that we really are needing lately. Cuphead is huge proof of that. Don't get me wrong we don't need unfair hard games like we've h

Darksouls 3 How to Beat Iudex Gundyr with a Dagger

Image
Iudex Gundyr with a Dagger Iudex Gundyr is the first boss and probably the easiest boss of Darksouls three. And here I'll show you my best strategy to kill him with a dagger easy. I have a video  here  of me killing him with a dagger if you want to see that. And to a tutorial on how to kill him normally, check  here . Now there's I believe two classes in Darksouls 3 that use daggers. The Sorcerer class and the Thief class. Though we'll be using the Thief since it has a bleed effect which will help a lot in this fight. Now what will help a lot is to parry him which is very easy once you do it a few times and get the hand of it, you can watch me parry him in the video above to get the timing right (Even though I do miss once or twice.) Try running past all the enemies if you can so you don't have to risk using up some of your estus early. Go into the boss room and take the coiled sword out of his gut. Because of the daggers low weight you'll be able to

Darksouls 3 Halflight Spear of the Church Boss Fight

Image
Halflight Spear of the Church This is the second to last required bossfight in the Ringed city DLC of Darksouls 3 and is famous for being a PVP boss which is why I'd suggest going offline when fighting this boss if you aren't used to Darksouls 3 PVP. Although, online Halflight of the church is not all like normal Darksouls3 PVP you'll do throughout the game. When you go into the fight you can of course summon phantoms to help you through the fight which will make the pvp part easier. But when you confront the main boss online it will 99% of the time be another player. Their health will be displayed on a boss bar, they will be given more health and strength to be a proper boss. They will also be given different abilities they can use, summoning a line of spears across the ground and such. Location The Halflight boss room is located right after your second encounter with Darkeater midir, you go down the elevator then you'll see a door, open that for a shortcut

My Thoughts on Nioh

Image
My Thoughts on Nioh Oni Demon mini boss in Nioh Nioh is an Action RPG game that came out for PS4 on February 7th 2017. But hit PC lovers everywhere on November 7th 2017 with it's unexpected release on steam. Nioh is a  Darksouls like game  based in old Japan, full of Magic, War, and Monsters. Now just because Nioh may be described as a Darksouls Like game does not mean it's a Darksouls copy. It's clear that  they took inspiration from Darksouls  on many game mechanics, but Nioh has a bunch of really awesome and unique game mechanics of it's own that completely make it it's own game. If you want to hear about those check out my  previous Nioh blog post . My thoughts on Nioh. I'm a huge Darksouls fan, I know the Darksouls 3 controls like the back of my hand, so the fact that Nioh has almost backwards controls than Darksouls, A to roll and dash. B to interact with items, had almost gotten me not to play Nioh. I kept on playing through the first stage, a

Nioh Comparison to Darksouls

Image
Nioh Nioh is an Action RPG released on February 7th of 2017 as a PS4 exclusive. Luckily for all of us PC Master race enthusiasts, Nioh was released on steam November 7th of 2017. Currently for me it's only been twenty days since it's steam release so I've been consuming as much Nioh as fast as I can.  Nioh is a game that would be put under the Soulsborne genre which just means it's similar to the Darksouls, Demonsouls, and Bloodborne games. Well as that is correct there is a bunch of differences as well that completely make Nioh it's own game. The few things that make Nioh a soulsborne like game are for one, the Medicine system, Medicine is basically your Estus. You start with three when you enter a level, but you can find more and they can be dropped by enemies, but will be reset every time you go to a shrine. Another thing that makes them similar is the shrines. They are basically the Bonfires of Darksouls. You rest at one and it regains all your medic

Mario Odyssey Review

Image
Mario Odyssey Review  Mario Odyssey is the newest Mario game that just came out for the Nintendo Switch and is currently being praised as a perfect game. I'd have to agree with most of the things there. The gameplay is good, you know, like all of the newer 3d Marios do. Good graphics for a mario game and a cool concept. My only thing I have against the game really is the fact that it might as well be Mario Galaxy 3.  The Mario Galaxy games were a couple of 3d Mario games for the Nintendo Wii, and very similar to Mario Odyssey. With the similar concept. In past mario games power ups and such were just to help you to get through a level if you happend to find them. But with both Mario Galaxy and Mario Odyssey there is certain power ups through out each level that you need in order to get through the level, and each level having one or two unique bossfights. The only difference is Mario Galaxy did this with actual items you pick up, where sometimes you even turn into differ

Darksouls 3 Early NPCs

Image
Darksouls 3 NPCs Darksouls, is unique in many ways which is why 75% of the time darksouls copy games have a hard time becoming what Darksouls is. One of the unique things about darksouls is obviously the combat and story telling. But another thing that makes all the Darksouls games unique is the way he deals with NPCs and quests. The NPCs arent just thrown out for you in easy to put places with simple quest markers to hold your hand everyway. No you have to go out and find the NPCs on your own hand, or by googles. The quests can be difficult and easy to miss, this may all sound like bad things but it's what makes Darksouls and I personally thinks it adds to the challenge of the game, NPC Locations By NPCs we are only going to go over the talkable NPCs and not going over the ones that attack you like the Swordmaster and such. And we are not going over the ones that are bfirst in Firelink, The Firekeeper, Andre and the Shrine Handmaiden, since well. These ones are extremely

Darksouls 3 Darkeater Midir

Image
Darkeater Midir  Darkeater Midir is a secret boss in Darksouls 3's Ringed City DLC, this boss is known to be one of the hardest bosses in the game and can be at times but if you do it right can be one of the easier fights in the game. Once Midir gets down to 20% health he gets stunned and you can one shot him after that, so his health isn' t really all that big. His normal health is at 15,860, though technically to kill him his only has 12688 health, 80% of his normal health. You need to kill Midir to be able to join the Spears of the Church Covenant, which allows you to be the boss in the Halflight bossfight which can be tons of fun, in the Halflight Bossfight when you're the boss you get added health and damage which makes it more even when fighting against a host, and a couple phantoms. To find Darkeater midir go to the room across from the Halflight fight with the statue of Gwyn and the pygmy, from there go down the elevator and drop off half way into a sec

Darksouls 3 Slave Knight Gael

Image
Slave Knight Gael Slave Knight Gael is the final boss of the final DLC in all of the Souls series. A good ending if you ask me, Gael being one of the more challenging and interesting boss fights in the game. One of the more interesting parts of this fight is you see Slave Knight Gael as an npc multiple times in the Ringed City dlc, and even the Ashes of Ariendel DLC, and he is the way you actually get to the Ashes of Ariendel DLC as well as being able to summon him to help you fight Sister Friede and Father Ariendel, and even the Demon Princes fight in The Ringed City DLC as well as seeing his messages all around the Dreg Heap telling you where to jump and where not to. Where to Find.    Slave Knight Gael is right after the Halflight of the Church bossfight, once that fight is finished go up the stairs and you'll see a bonfire, rest at that then go through the doors, you'll be brought into a cut scene then you'll be a different area, if you walk around you'

Darksouls 3 Demon Princes Fight

Image
Demon Princes The Demon Princes are the first boss you fight in the Ringed City DLC of Darksouls three, all though by the community called the Demon Princes, The boss's fist stage consists of two bat like demons named Demon in Pain and Demon from Below, the second stage being one large bat like demon named The Demon Prince. But because of the first stage's two separate demon names everyone calls the boss "Demon Princes" Boss Location and Summons The boss isnt hard to find, it's right across from the Within Earthen Peak bonfire in the Dreg Heap. The boss is not optional, you need to kill it in order to get to the Ringed City, which is the main part of the DLC. As for NPC summons, if you talked to Lapp before doing the fight and exhausted his dialog, he'll be able to join you in the fight. Also Slave knight Gael will join you in the fight no matter what, and if you have a Dried Finger you can summon in a player as well. Boss Fight The Demon Princes is

DOOM Multiplayer Review

Image
DOOM Multiplayer Review The Multiplayer content and gameplay in doom gts a lot of bad rep. PCGamer described it as "Dull" and "Fails to carve out an identity of its own." I completely disagree with bot hof these. I'm not a huge fan of First Person Shooters, I don't dislike them but they've never been my cup of tea. This year there has been a few really good shooters, with games like Player Unknown's Battlegrounds and Destiny 2 I think DOOM which was released in May of last year can still compete with these newer titles since it brings something completely new to the table. Gameplay Something that DOOM does, that a lot of other shooters dont do is it supports being aggressive! With one of the main things in DOOM that completely  separates it's self from other shooters in the Health and Armor pickups. Normally how combat in other shooters go is, shoot from cover, then sink back and wait for your health to regen. Rinse and repeat. All t

Darksouls 3 Champion Gravetender and Greatwolf

Image
Champion Gravetender and Greatwolf The Champion Gravetendr is the only optional boss to be added in with the Ashes of Ariendel DLC. This boss is needed to be killed if you want to use the Undead Arena for Pvp. This boss is unique in the way does it does not drop a boss soul, but a unique weapon Valorheart, which is a sword with a sword built into the weapon when you two hand it, with a very interesting move set that's very different than others in the game. How to get to the boss is some what hidden, a lot like the Old Demon King bossfight. At the chapel bonfire you probably already know about the rope bridge, you'll want to take that out then climb down, and fall onto some roots, keep falling down the roots, that have Wilwood knights and archers on them mind you, and you'll get to some frozen lake, youll see a little dent in the wall, go into there and you'll find the Frozen Plains bonfire, then facing away from the bonfire, go right to find the fog wall W

Darksouls 3 Old Demon King

Image
Old Demon King The old Demon kind is the optional boss of the optional zone the Smoldering Lake under Carthus Catacmbs, right before the fight with High Lord Wolnir. Now, even though the Demon King has a intimidating name, he is one of the easier bosses in my opinion, if you know how to roll well To get to the boss, from the High Lord Wolnir bonfire, go to the rope birgde and knock that down, climb down that to get to the Smoldering Lake, run past the huge demon, go down the hall, take a leftr, then run down the cave, You'll be in a large area. Then go to the left and run, you'll get to the fog wall. In the boss fight the Demon King is large, but most of his attacks except for two, is an AoE attack, so dodging will be fairly easy. He is weak to all Black Knight weapons, and dark damage, so dodge, use fire resist magic and items and you should be good

Dark Souls 3 Pontiff Sulyvahn

Image
Pontiff Sulyvahn The Pontiff is the first boss of Irithyl, right before Aldrich in Anor Londo, Pontiff Sulyvahn in my opinion is the first boss in the game that marks the harder parts of Darksouls Three (Unless you go to Irithyl Dungeon first). And after Pontiff is one of the harder, or hardest bosses in the game, in my opinion. To get to the boss fight, from the Church of Yorshka Bonfire go downstairs through the tunnel, go to the left and go through the hole in the way, keep going forward till you get outside, from there take a left and go down the stairs, then head under the bridge and just run forward then left at the first arch.  There will be a few spider guys, just attack them and run through the room, heading up the stairs, you'll find yourself in a room with a Black Night, fight him and be careful of the one shooting arrows from the balcony, so go behind the convenient  wall to dodge the arrows. Keep then run out of the room towards the outside and just book i

Darksouls 3 Dancer of the Boreal Valley

Image
Dancer of the Boreal Valley The Dancer of the Boreal Valley is known as one of the hardest bosses of the game, and can actually be fought fairly early even though it is intended to be a late game boss to get to the Lothric Castle zone, which is one of the last zones in the Main Game. The boss is located in the room where you find Emma, at the very end of Lothric Wall right across from the Boreal Valley Vordt location. You can technically fight the dancer before Vordt, killing Emma will start up the fight no matter where you are in the story. And if you kill the Dancer that early you can even finish all of lothric castle, but you'll only be able to get as far as the Dragonslayer Armor, since you need to at least beat Aldrich to get into the the next zone. How to get to the Dancer fight the main way that you're supposed to, kill all the Lords of Cinder, then get to Aldrich, the last Lord of Cinder, once you kill him you'll be transported to the Dancer Boss Room a

Darksouls 3 Aldrich Devorour of Gods

Image
Aldrich I hate this boss, so much. Honestly it's a great boss fight, really well done and all that. It just gives me so much trouble. Honestly it's the hardest fight in the whole game in my opinion, but that's just me. Aldrich is the 2nd boss of Irithyll. Right after the Pontiff. Aldrich is one of the Lords of Cinder that you need to defeat in order to go fight the Soul of Cinder. Location Getting to the boss is easy. From the Anor Londo bonfire go up the stairs then to the left, go up the spiral stair case and walk along the balcony, form there walk down some more stairs into the main room,, here you'll waat to head towards the large door, then go to the left into a small room with a lever, pull that to open a door, it's a shortcut so that now from the Anor Londo bonfire you can run straight through. The boss fight it's self is super hard. Go in there and get ready to dodge, he'll shoot little bits of magic at you, or a large blast, sometimes

Darksouls 3 Soul of Cinder

Image
Soul of Cinder The Soul of Cinder is the final boss in Darksouls 3, not counting the DLC. But it is the very end of the main story in Darksouls 3. Honestly compared to some of the other bosses it's fairly easy. He's very agile and a lot of his attacks are remaining AoEs so rolling backwards will be a really good idea. To get to the boss is simple, kill all four Lords of Cinder. Aldrich, Abyss Watchers, Yhorm, and the Twin Princess. Put all their ashes of their thrones in Firelink Shrine, talk to the firekeeper and she'll transport you to a new area. The last area, where you fight the Soul of Cinder Now once you get into the fight, buff up cause he'll only attack once you get three steps in, at first he'll just swing with his sword and whatnot spinning around and launching in the air. Just that, once he gets to half health he'll keep doing that aznd use his sword as a staff, using spells that the player uses, there's no telling what he'll use

Darksouls 3 Abyss Watchers Boss Fight

Image
Abyss Watchers An Abyss watcher in Farron Keep Abyss Watchers The Abyss Watchers are the boss of the Farron Keep and if you ask anyone really marks the beginning of the harder part of the game, because after this you have the Carthus Catabombs, Irithyll, and then Lothric Castle which are some of the harder areas in the game, though produce the most loot and souls.  Location Now how to get to the boss you have to go to the Farron Keep Perimeter bonfire. From there go into the direction of the Dark Wraiths, the dark wraiths will come from the south and continue north to the boss room. There will also be a few of those squid face goat guys that the dark wraiths will kill, try standing close enough to the darkwraiths so only one will agro you, it'll be difficult to take them both on at once. Once you you kill all the Squid Goat Guys just open the large door and you'll be able to walk into the boss room, it would be smart to summon a few npcs or other players, c

Darksouls 3 Dragonslayer Armor Fight

Image
Dragonslayer Armor This is one of the two bosses in the Lothric Castle zone, the other one being optional this one needed to finish the game. This boss is a giant set of Iron Dragon Slayer armor wielding the Dragonslayers Great Axe. To actually get to the fight you need to go from the Dancer of the Boreal Valley bonfire, go up the ladder then go straight forward, then take a left to get to the elevator. Once you go up there the fogwall will be straigt across. Dragonslayer armor deals Lightning and Physical damage, but is super weak to Fire Damage, so one of the various Fire Greatswords will be great against him, you might want to summon some people in for this fight, it's a lot easier to fight him if you have someone getting his attention while you hit him in the back. Now, the actual fight. Walk around him, dodge through his attacks to the direction he's coming from, if he hits towards you dodge in the direction his hand is. If he swings from the right to the le

Darksouls 3 Deacons of the Deep

Image
The Deacons of the Deep boss battle in the Cathedral of the Deep Deacons of the Deep The Deacons are the boss in the Cathedral of the Deep zone, although once defeating the Deacons you don't go anywhere the fight gives you the Small Doll item which allows you to enter the Boreal Valley after defeating  High Lord Wolnir . The boss fight is unlike a lot of the other bossfights in the game, rather it being just one boss that you fight, the boss fight consists of a bunch of Deep Priests, once one glows red that's the one that takes the boss health away, and so on, that'll continue to go on till the main Boss Mob spawns, which isnt a big deal, he looks a lot like the others aside from his different clothes and staff, they other ones will surround him, so actually getting to him may be a bit difficult Location To actually get to the boss, first thing first you need to unlock both shortcuts in the Cleansing Chapel, but from that bonfire go to the left shortcut, and keep

Darksouls 3 Curse Rotted Greatwood

Image
Curse Rotted Greatwood boss battle at the Undead Settlement  Curse Rotted Greatwood Darksouls 3 does have a lot of optional bosses doesnt it? Goodness. Well the Curse Rotted Greatwood is the first optional boss in the game, all though the boss is needed to be killed to get the Transposing Kiln, which allows you to make boss weapons out of future boss souls. Location The Curse Rotted Greatwood is located in the Undead Settlement. First you have to go to the dilapidated Bridge bonfire, from there go down the path were you see a Giant with a cage on his back, once defeating him you'll want to keep running down the path, there will be a whole ton of workers there to stop you, but if you look to your right in the distance is a Giant with a bow shooting spear sized arrows, dodge those and he'll hit the workers, then go into the nearest building, there will be a worker and a red eyed worker there, then go up the stairs, although if you jump behind you once up the stairs you

Darksouls 3 Champion Gundyr Boss Fight

Image
Champion Gundyr Champion Gundyr is a secret boss in Darksouls 3, just like  The Nameless King Boss  in the secret zone the Untended Graves, which looks exactly like the Cemetery of Ash location, except much darker. Champion Gundyr himself is modeled off the first boss in the game  Iudex Gundyr  except darker, and with red eyes. Champion Gundyr himself is a lot harder than Iudex Gundyr, stronger, more health, and much much faster.I didnt have much trouble with the boss since I used the Dragonslayers Greataxe, it has a weapon art that brings down a large pillar of lightning, doing a bunch of damage to Gundyr. Location To actually get to the Untended Graves zone you have to beat  Oceiros The Consumed King , once dead in the far end of his bossroom with be an illusionary wall, behind the wall you'll need to kill a few Man Serpent enemies, and then you'll drop down off of a ledge, bringing you to the Untended Graves location, now you should know where to go from here sinc

Darksouls 3 Nameless King

Image
Nameless King Fight The Nameless King is a secret boss in Darksouls 3 at the end of Archdragon Peak and is needed to get the Twinkling Dragon Head Stone. It is an optional boss fight meaning it is not needed to complete the game, in fact a lot of people run through the game without even knowing he's there. So first we'll go through the steps of actually getting to Archdragon Peak. Archdragon Peak First thing you need to do to get to Archdragon peak is, from the Profaned Capital bonfire go on the bridge back to the Dungeon, keep going straight till you go up a set of stairs, you'll be on a balcony with a bunch of dead knights sitting down next to a dragon man sitting in the same way, you'll need to come back here later. Now, you'll need to go and defeat  Ocerios The Consumed King , once you kill him you'll get an emote that looks just like how the knights and dragon man were sitting in that area before, go back there and use that emote around them, a

Darksouls 3 Yhorm The Giant

Image
Yhorm The Giant Yhorm is the boss in the Profaned Capital right after Irythil Dungeon and is one of the Four Lords of Cinder if you've played Darksouls 2 then you might realize that Yhorm is a lot like Darksouls 2's first boss, The Last Giant. No NPCS can be summoned for this fight, though if you've done Seigward's questline he will walk into the boss room and help you fight Yhorm. To get to the boss room, from the Profaned Capital bonfire you'll want to go down the side of the tower using the ladder, then jump down off of the bridge onto the ground below. From there you'll see the Profaned Flame, a large ball of fire, walk towards it, it won't hurt you. Keep going forward from that and the Fog Wall is directly ahead. Boss Fight The actual fight part is really easy though can be uber hard if you don't know what to do. First run completely past Yhorm, there will be an item by his throne you'll want to grab. Stormruler, it's a greatswo

Darksouls 3 High Lord Wolnir Boss

Image
High Lord Wolnir High Lord Wolnir High Lord Wolnir is the boss in the Carthus Catacombs that you have to fight to get to Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. It is honestly one of the easier bosses in the game thought the problem with that is a lot of people don't know how the boss works when they first go in there because of it's different boss mechanics compared to the other boss fights you encounter in the game. Location Wolnir is actually not too far away from the Catacombs of Carthus bonfire. Though the place can honestly be like a maze so it's hard to find at times. From the bonfire you'll see a hallway with a staircase. Though to your right will be a ball of skeletons that rolls up and down the staircase. You'll want to run down the stairs before it rolls, then doge to the right once you get down. There will be a bunch of little rats down there and the skeleton ball will crush them all if you dodge at the right time. Now that you're down there if

Darksouls 3 Crystal Sage Boss Fight

Image
Crystal Sage Boss The Crystal Sage boss battle in the Crucifixion Woods Crystal Sage Alright, this boss gave me a whole lot trouble the first time around and later runs through the game as well. This boss is needed to be beat to get into the Cathedral of the Deep, which is also how you get to the  Ashes of Ariendel DLC . Location The Crystal Sage is located in the Crucifixion Woods. From the Crucifixion Woods bonfire at the far wall there'll be stairs to walk up. From there kill all the enemies in the room and keep going. You eventually get to a point where there's three ways you can go and an undead in the middle of the room. Kill the undead and go right. Or if you go forwards can you walk up some stairs where you find Orbeck of Vinhelm, He'll sell your sorceries. From Orbeck you can drop down into the room that leads to the boss fight, from there go straight. A mini sage will be there by the fog wall waiting for you, kill him then go into the boss room

Darksouls 3 How to Enter the DLCs

Image
Darksouls 3 DLC Darksouls 3 has a total of 2 DLCs at the moment. Ashes of Ariendel and The Ringed City. Each dlc bringing in a difficult zone and a few bosses, with tons of more items. The Ringed City being the more content wielding DLC out of the two. Ashes of Ariendel DLC This is the first DLC in the game that you are able to access, and the smallest out of the two. The DLC has two bosses, The Gravetender and  Sister Friede . To actually enter the DLC though you need to get to the Cathedral of the Deep at the Cleansing Chapel bonfire you'll see the npc Gael. He's a red hooded NPC. Talking to him will eventually bring you to the DLC, inside of a cave next to a bonfire. Ringed City DLC The second DLC, The Ringed City is a whole lot harder and a whole lot harder to get to than Ashes of Ariendel is. There is two ways to get to the DLC. First way is through the Ashes of Ariendel DLC. Once beating Ashes of Ariendel's  Last Boss  there will be two bonf
