Cuphead Game Review

Cuphead

Chances are you've probably heard of the game Cuphead. Cuphead was released September 29 2017, it is a 2d shooting game praised for it's unique design, having the looks of a 1930's cartoon. Cuphead became amazing popular winning three awards in the Game Awards 2017, Best Art Direction, Best Independent Game, and Best Deput Indie Game.

The plot of the game is that you, Cuphead and your friend Mugman lost all their money at the Devil's Casino and now to pay back their debt have to go and collect the souls of different people who owe the devil their soul. Cuphead is pretty much a bossrush game. There is a few "Run and Gun" levels where the goal is to get from point A to point B while also collecting coins, but the amount of Bosses vastly out numbers the amount of Run and Gun levels.

Another thing that Cuphead is widely known for is the difficulty of the game. In Cuphead all you have to do is shoot, jump, run and parry. Parrying is different then you might think, you'll see bright pink objects through the game, they could be enemies, ghosts or even boss projectiles, if you jump on them, then press A when you make contact you get rid of the object and gain a card, each card allows you to use your special attack, but them when you have five cards, you can do a special move, which does a ton of damage and uses up all your cards.

These are the things that I took from Cuphead, and if I were to rate it I'd give it a 9.5/10. It's a super fun game, it's a hard and challenging game, and completely made an impact on the gaming scene of 2017. If you think I missed anything about cuphead or have some different thoughts about it let me know in the comments below,
