How To Get The Most Out Of Your Darksouls 3 Play Through Part Two: Skillpoints and Leveling

Darksouls Skill Points

Today we're going to be going over where to put your skill points to get more bang for you buck. We're also going to be going over the 6 basic play styles, Giant Greatsword Wielding Maniac, Sword and Board, Sorceries, Pyromancies, Miracles, and Hyper Dex sword swinger. First though, let's quickly cover what stats do what. Also, a good thing to note is that to get upgrade your stats you need to use Souls which is the game wide currency that you sell stuff, and buy stuff with, you get it from selling items and killing creatures, or finding souls or boss souls throughout the world and using them. The amount of souls you need per level increases every time you level up.

Vigor

Vigor is the main thing you'll want to level up early game, for all of the play styles, Vigor increases your maximum health, while also boosting your immunity to Frost. The amount of Health you get per point of Vigor goes up and down the more you level, but once you hit 50 vigor it only gives you a very very small bit of health. Once you hit 50 you'll have plenty of health anyway so it's fine.

Attunement

As Vigor increases your health, Attunement increases your Focus Points which is the blue bar on your screen that uses up when you use magic. Attunement also gives you more Attunement slots, which is the amount of magic you can use. Attunement is a good stat for the Pyromancies, Miracles, and Sorceries.

Endurance

Endurance gives you more stamina, which you'll need a lot in most builds, even more so in the Hyper Dex Sword Swinger. Every attack you do with a weapon takes up a bit of stamina so you cant just spam attacks, so the more stamina you have the more you can swing your weapon. Endurance also gives you a boost to Bleed and Lightning resistance.

Vitality

Vitality does a few thing. One, it gives you a boost to Physical Defense. Second, it gives you a bigger equip load, so you can use more weapons and heavier armor. Last, and probably least it gives you some poison resistance. Vitality is good if you want to use either some heavy armor, or a really heavy weapon.

Strength

Different weapons require different amounts of skill stats to use for them. A really heavy greatsword will probably want a lot of strength to use. So as well as Strength letting you use bigger and greater weapons, it also increases the damage that those bigger weapons do. And gives you a resistance to fire.

Dexterity

Dexterity pretty much does the same exact thing as Strength but instead it focuses on smaller weapons, like straight swords, katanas, duel swords and such. As well as doing that, Dexterity reduces the damage you take when falling and reduces spell casting time as well.

Intelligence and Faith

Intelligence and Faith go hand in hand so we're cover them together. Intelligence and Faith are a lot like Strength and Dex, but for spells. Intelligence is for Sorceries, and Faith is for Miracles. Though the reason we're covering them together is that Pyromancies require and level with both Intelligence and Faith.

Luck

Luck increases how effective blood damage is, which is a big deal. and increases what chance you have of finding better weapons, armor and loot off of fallen enemies.

Alrighty! That was my quick overview on stats, if there's something I missed or if you have any questions please let me know in the comments below!
